Awlgrip J3890Q Awlwood MA Exterior Clear Gloss Finish - Quart

Awlgrip Awlwood MA Clear Gloss Finish is a premium exterior wood finish engineered for above-waterline marine applications. Designed as part of a two-component system — paired with an Awlwood MA Primer — the gloss topcoat bonds at a molecular level directly to the wood's cellular structure, delivering long-lasting clarity, depth of image (DOI), and natural wood appearance that holds up coat after coat.

Awlgrip's Flex-Link technology locks the system to the wood substrate, including difficult tropical hardwoods, ensuring superior flexibility and resistance to cracking, chipping, and abrasion. The result is a finish that maintains its original high-gloss appearance and resists the degrading effects of UV exposure, moisture, and daily wear over extended service cycles.

Key Features:

• Non-yellowing polymer formula stabilized with high-performance UV absorbers for long-term film clarity and sustained gloss and DOI retention
• Elastomeric cured film provides excellent toughness and abrasion resistance for outstanding in-service durability
• Flex-Link molecular technology bonds to wood cellular structure — including tropical hardwoods — for superior adhesion and flexibility
• Synergistic two-component system — when used with Awlwood MA Primers, performance is maximized and re-coat cycle times are extended
• Available in Gloss and Matte formulas — for best results when a matte finish is desired, build up coats with Gloss and finish with Matte
• For exterior, above-waterline use only
• Compatible with Awlwood standard reducers (brush or spray)
• Can be applied by brush, roller, or spray

For maximum performance in high-temperature and high-humidity environments, Awlgrip recommends Awlwood MA Multi-Climate Gloss (J4000Q). Sold in quart size. Cross-reference part numbers: AWL-J3890Q, 28-9182, 28-9183.
