Product Details

VHT SP102 FlameProof Coating is a high-performance ceramic silicone coating designed to protect surfaces exposed to extreme temperatures up to 2000?F (1093?C). This flat black finish is ideal for automotive exhaust systems, headers, turbochargers, and other components subjected to intense heat. The same technology used in aerospace applications for jet engines and re-entry vehicles is now available for your high-temperature coating needs.

Key Features:

  • Withstands continuous temperatures up to 2000?F (1093?C) when properly cured
  • Matte finish ceramic silicone base provides superior heat resistance
  • Part of VHT's three-step coating system (primer, color coat, clear coat)
  • Extends the life of exhaust components and high-heat surfaces
  • 11 oz aerosol can for easy application
  • Suitable for headers, exhaust manifolds, pipes, and turbo housings

Curing Process:

VHT FlameProof Coating requires proper curing to achieve its maximum temperature resistance. On-vehicle curing: Allow paint to dry completely, then idle engine for 10 minutes, cool 20 minutes, idle 20 minutes, cool 20 minutes, then run at normal operating temperature for 30 minutes. Off-vehicle curing: Heat to 250?F for 30 minutes, cool 30 minutes, heat to 400?F for 30 minutes, cool 30 minutes, heat to 650?F for 30 minutes. Complete instructions are included on each can.

For optimal results, use VHT SP102 as the color coat in conjunction with VHT FlameProof primer and clear coat. This professional-grade coating system delivers maximum protection and durability for demanding high-temperature applications.
