How SeaTalk^ng Backbone Systems Work:

In a SeaTalk^ng installation, the backbone cable serves as the main trunk line running through your boat. Individual marine electronics devices connect to this backbone using spur cables that attach via T-pieces at various points along the backbone. The backbone simultaneously carries both NMEA 2000 data communications and power to all connected devices, creating a unified network for your navigation electronics.
