The NewMar NS-12-20 StartGuard is a battery backup power supply designed to protect sensitive marine and vehicle electronics from voltage drops during engine cranking. When engines start, the abrupt DC system voltage drop can cause microprocessor-driven electronics to dump programmed memory or reset unexpectedly. The StartGuard solves this problem by providing supplemental power to critical electronics while engines are cranking, ensuring uninterrupted operation of navigation systems, fishfinders, chartplotters, and other onboard electronics.
