C.E. Smith 16270 Bearing Protector with Cover 1.781 Inch

The C.E. Smith 16270 Bearing Protector is designed to keep your trailer wheel bearings properly lubricated and protected from water, dirt, and debris. This bearing protector features a spring-loaded piston system that maintains constant, positive pressure on the grease, forcing contaminants out of the hub assembly while keeping fresh grease in contact with the bearings.

Key Features:

• 1.781-inch diameter fits standard trailer hubs
• Spring-loaded piston maintains constant grease pressure
• Protective cover included to keep dirt and debris out
• Chrome-plated steel construction for corrosion resistance
• See-through window allows visual grease level inspection
• Easy to install and refill with standard grease gun

Bearing protectors are essential for trailer maintenance, especially for boat trailers that are frequently submerged in water. The positive pressure system prevents water intrusion during launch and retrieval, significantly extending bearing life. Simply fill with marine-grade grease until the piston is flush with the cap face, and check periodically to maintain proper grease levels.
