Metalube Products — operating under Metalube & Coating Services LLC — has been a trusted name in industrial and consumer cleaning chemistry since 1975. Founded as a family-owned business, the 4U Cleaner/Degreaser was originally created for the industrial and aerospace industries, filling a genuine gap in the market for an all-purpose cleaner that is both safe for the environment and non-toxic. Nearly five decades later, that same commitment to safety and effectiveness continues to define every product that leaves the facility in Corona, California.
The Story Behind the Brand
Metalube was established with the specific purpose of supplying lubricants and cleaners to the aerospace and metalworking industries. Over the years, the brand evolved and expanded its reach considerably. Over more than 45 years, product sales expanded with distribution across North America and into additional market segments including marine, automotive, and RV. In 2019, Metalube Corporation was acquired by the family-owned Perryman Company and renamed Metalube & Coating Services LLC, with operations of 4U Products remaining in Corona, CA.

MC509/4U has passed independent laboratory testing and chemical analysis performed by the South Coast AQMD Laboratory, and its clean air solvent certification complies with the VOC requirements of Rule 1122 – Solvent Degreasers and Rule 1171 – Solvent Cleaning Operations. NSF has also provided independent certification, testing, registration, and validation of MC509/4U, and the product is registered with the US Federal Government System for Award Management (SAM) for direct orders supporting government entities and contractors.
