Megaware KeelGuard 27061 SkegGuard Stainless Steel Skeg Protector for Mercury Outboards

The Megaware KeelGuard 27061 SkegGuard is a heavy-duty stainless steel skeg protector engineered specifically for compatible Mercury outboard motors. Designed to protect and prevent damage to your motor's skeg, it can also serve as a repair solution for an already broken or damaged skeg — saving you hundreds of dollars in lower unit repairs.

Key Features:

• Constructed from 18-gauge marine-grade 316 stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish for a clean, custom look
• Reinforced 3mm lower wear tab protects the most vulnerable area of the skeg against ramp dragging, submerged rocks, debris, and hidden underwater hazards
• Drain hole prevents water from collecting inside the guard, reducing the risk of corrosion and freeze damage
• Precision-formed to conform closely to your lower unit — no discernible drag or loss of performance
• Can be installed with as little as 2 inches of original skeg remaining, making it ideal for broken skeg repair
• DIY installation in under 10 minutes using common tools — slide onto the skeg with a rubber mallet, then secure with included self-locking hardware through pre-drilled 1/4-inch holes
• Backed by a 3-year limited warranty

The SkegGuard 27061 is motor-specific and engineered to fit select Mercury outboard models with a 4.75" torpedo gearcase profile. Whether you're protecting a new skeg or repairing damage from a previous season, the SkegGuard is a cost-effective, long-lasting solution trusted by boaters across the country.
