Product Details

The Sierra 18-6026 is a magnesium sacrificial anode designed to protect outboard engine exhaust housings from galvanic corrosion in fresh water environments. This bolt-on anode is engineered as a direct replacement for OMC and compatible engine applications, offering reliable corrosion protection for 2 and 3-cylinder outboard engines.

Sacrificial anodes work by attracting galvanic corrosion away from critical metal components — the anode corrodes in place of shafts, propellers, exhaust housings, and other expensive drive parts, extending the life of your engine's underwater components.

Key Features:

  • Material: Magnesium alloy — engineered specifically for fresh water use
  • Attachment: Bolt-on design for secure, reliable mounting
  • Replaces OEM part number 0392462 (OMC) and Mercury #802472T
  • Protects exhaust housing from galvanic and electrolytic corrosion
  • Sold individually; mounting hardware not included

OEM Cross-Reference:

  • OMC / Evinrude / Johnson: 0392462, 392462
  • Mercury: 802472T

Note: Magnesium anodes are recommended for fresh water use only. For salt water or brackish water applications, choose zinc or aluminum alloy anodes respectively.
