The Airmar M285HW is a 1kW CHIRP in-hull transducer built for offshore fishing and freshwater anglers who demand sharp target resolution without the drag or vulnerability of a hull-penetrating installation. Operating across a high-frequency CHIRP range of 150–250kHz with a fixed 25-degree wide beamwidth, it delivers exceptionally clear bottom detail and fish arch definition in shallow to medium-depth water down to 700 feet (215 meters).

The M285HW uses a liquid-filled urethane housing that mounts securely inside the hull of the boat. The housing is filled with eco-friendly antifreeze, which acts as the acoustic coupling medium to transmit sonar signals cleanly through the fiberglass hull and into the water below. The transducer element is inserted into the housing and adjusted for the correct dead-rise offset so the beam fires straight down regardless of hull angle. Because no part of the transducer protrudes below the hull, it is an ideal choice for trailered or lifted boats. Designed for use on solid fiberglass hulls up to approximately 25 feet.

This is the Mix and Match (MM) version, meaning a separate Airmar Mix and Match connector cable is required and must be ordered to match your specific chartplotter or fishfinder brand.
