Megaware KeelGuard 27301 SkegGuard Stainless Steel Outboard Skeg Protector

The Megaware KeelGuard 27301 SkegGuard is a precision-fitted stainless steel skeg protector and replacement skeg designed for select Yamaha outboard motors. Whether you're looking to protect an intact skeg from future damage or repair one that's already been broken, the SkegGuard delivers a durable, cost-effective solution that can save hundreds of dollars in lower unit repair bills.

Key Features:

• 18-gauge marine grade 316 stainless steel construction for maximum corrosion resistance and long-term durability
• Mirror-polished finish for lasting shine and reduced drag
• Reinforced 3mm (1/8") thickened lower wear tab across the most vulnerable section of the skeg — ideal protection against hidden rocks, submerged debris, and ramp dragging
• Drain hole on the bottom prevents water from collecting, reducing the risk of corrosion and freezing
• Contoured fit conforms closely to your lower unit with no discernible drag or loss of performance
• DIY installation in under 10 minutes using common hand tools and self-locking hardware
• Installs with as little as 2–3 inches of existing skeg remaining — no welding required
• Backed by a 3-year limited warranty

The SkegGuard slides onto the existing skeg using a rubber mallet, then locks in place via pre-drilled holes using a standard 1/4-inch drill bit. It is a far stronger and more affordable alternative to professional skeg welding or lower unit replacement. UPC: 672057273012.
