Simrad 000-11518-001 NMEA 2000 Fluid Level Sensor for Marine Tank Sending Units

Manufacturer

Simrad

Founded in 1946 by Norwegian scientist Willy Simonsen, Simrad has established itself as a pioneering force in marine electronics technology. Born from the union of distinguished marine technology pioneers including Robertson, Simonsen Radio, Shipmate and Navico, the brand represents decades of experience in marine autopilot, communications, satellite navigation, electronic chartplotters, echosounders, instrumentation and multifunction displays. The company diversified in the late 1940s into the design and production of echo sounders, followed by fish-finders, sonars, radars and navigation equipment, establishing a worldwide reputation for quality that continues today.

Precision Navigation and Display Technology

Simrad's extensive lineup of multi-function display systems delivers exceptional performance for powerboats and luxury cruisers of all sizes. The brand has become the choice for demanding customers from explorers and adventurers to premium yacht builders and charter captains, with products covering recreational vessels from small runabouts and sportfishing boats to luxury cruisers and superyachts. These advanced systems integrate GPS navigation, fish-finding sonar, and vessel monitoring in intuitive touchscreen interfaces designed for all-weather operation.

Advanced Radar and Autopilot Systems

At the heart of safe navigation lies Simrad's comprehensive range of radars and autopilots. One of Simrad's most influential contributions came with the launch of solid state Broadband Radar in 2009, followed by Halo radar technology. The current range of Simrad autopilots represents over 70 years of experience and development, with a wide range of solutions to suit any vessel type and length. These systems compensate for wind and tide, freeing operators from constant course corrections during fishing, cruising, or navigation planning.

Modular System Architecture

What sets Simrad apart is the modular approach to marine electronics integration. Boaters can start with core components and expand their systems over time with sounder modules and accessories tailored to specific needs. Industry-standard NMEA 2000 connectivity ensures seamless integration between displays, sensors, and control systems throughout the vessel, whether building a simple single-display setup or a comprehensive multi-station command center.

Built for Harsh Marine Environments

After World War II, Simrad's engineering mindset shifted to the marine world, producing rugged radio telephones for fishing vessels, and by the 1950s, Simrad had earned a reputation for equipment that worked reliably in harsh conditions—a reputation that defines the brand today. That legacy of durability and purpose driven design continues to guide Simrad's modern product range, with long term investment in specialist engineering, particularly in radar, sonar and system integration. From commercial fishing operations to recreational sportfishing and luxury yacht applications, Simrad electronics are engineered to perform when it matters most.

Product Details

The Simrad 000-11518-001 Fluid Level Sensor is an NMEA 2000®-compatible interface module that converts signals from a standard resistive tank level sending unit into digital data for display on compatible multifunction displays (MFDs). Designed for use on Simrad, Lowrance, and B&G networked systems, this sensor keeps mariners informed of onboard fluid levels at a glance — directly from their chartplotter or instrument display.

Key Features:

 • Transmits tank fluid level readings (0–100%) over the NMEA 2000® network
 • Pre-configured for fuel tank monitoring using standard US marine sender resistance range (33–240 Ω)
 • Configurable for multiple fluid types: fuel, oil, live well, fresh water, gray water, and black water
 • Supports 2-point, 3-point, and 5-point calibration for accurate readings
 • Can be recalibrated for European-standard sending units via compatible Navico MFDs
 • Compatible with Simrad, Lowrance, and B&G multifunction displays
 • Direct replacement for the EP-65

This fluid level sensor connects easily between your existing tank sending unit and the NMEA 2000® backbone, eliminating the need for separate analog gauges. Its flexible configuration options make it suitable for virtually any onboard tank monitoring application. Replaces EP-65. Note: Cable not included.
