C. Sherman Johnson 27-406 Short Hand Crimp Lifeline Adjuster for 3/16" Wire

The C. Sherman Johnson 27-406 is a short hand crimp lifeline adjuster designed for use with 3/16" stainless steel wire. A trusted component in sailboat lifeline systems, this compact adjuster allows you to fine-tune and maintain proper tension along your lifeline gate sections with ease.

Most commonly installed at the stern rail in conjunction with a single gate eye, this adjuster provides 1" of adjustment travel to take up slack and keep your lifeline taut and secure. The knurled adjustment knob offers tool-free tensioning, while the hex locking nut keeps the setting firmly in place once the correct tension is achieved.

Key Features:

• Short profile design — ideal for stern rail gate applications
• Knurled adjustment knob for easy hand tensioning
• Hex locking nut secures adjustment in place
• Hand crimp terminal construction — compatible with standard hand crimp tools
• 1" range of adjustment travel
• Stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance in marine environments

Specifications:

• Wire Diameter: 3/16"
• Pin Diameter: 1/4"
• Adjustment Range: 1"
• Terminal Type: Hand Crimp
• Part Number: 27-406 (also known as 80980)

Important Note: Hand crimp terminals, when properly applied per manufacturer instructions, provide approximately 65–70% the breaking strength of 7×7 stainless steel wire. This is suitable for lifeline applications but these fittings should not be used for standing rigging or other high-load applications.
