The Balmar 60-100-DV is a high-output marine alternator from the 60-Series line, delivering 100 amps at 12 volts in a compact, small-case design. It features a 3.15" saddle mount (dual foot) configuration with a Dual Deep Vee (DV) pulley and isolated ground — built to the Hitachi-style mounting standard typical for Yanmar, Westerbeke, Lehman, and Perkins-Sabre marine diesel engines. This alternator replaces the discontinued Balmar 60-100-SR-IG.
At the core of this alternator is Balmar's patented Smart Ready® Technology, which gives the 60-100-DV a unique dual-mode capability. It can operate as a fully self-contained, internally regulated alternator (fixed 14.1V charge controller) or be paired with an external smart multi-stage voltage regulator such as the Balmar ARS-5 or Max Charge series. This makes it suitable as a reliable backup regulator for cruisers or a standalone solution for vessels with modest electrical loads and frequent engine run times.
