Product Details

The Dexter K68-539-00 Reverse Lockout Solenoid is a lock out solenoid for use on disc brake actuators designed for trailer brake systems. Unlike drum brakes, disc brakes generate full braking power in reverse, making this solenoid essential for safe operation when backing up with a trailer.

Key Features:

  • 12 volt solenoid valve connects to the tow vehicles back up light circuit for automatic brake lockout
  • Adapts to all models of hydraulic actuators and installs directly in line between the trailer hydraulic actuator and the brake line
  • Thread Size: 3/16" IF x 1/8" MP
  • Unit can be wired independently or adapted to trailer wire harness with a 5-flat plug on trailer and tow vehicle
  • Can be used on drum brakes as well

This is a stop flow unit used on older model actuators and is also known by Tie Down Engineering part number 81103. If your actuator does not have a reverse lock out lever or switch, a reverse lockout solenoid should be installed at the actuator before installation of disc brakes. Only one electrical connection to the vehicle's backup lights is required for automatic operation.
