Product Details

The Engineered Marine Products 43-02786 Clutch Dog Spring is a critical component in marine outboard motor lower units, designed to maintain proper clutch dog engagement during gear shifting. This spring applies constant pressure to force the clutch dog assembly into the forward gear position, ensuring reliable gear engagement and preventing the clutch from slipping out of gear under load.

Key Features:

  • Provides consistent spring tension for smooth, reliable gear shifting
  • Helps prevent clutch dog slippage and gear jumping under load
  • Essential component for proper forward and reverse gear operation
  • Direct replacement for OEM part numbers 320311 (BRP) and Sierra 18-2398
  • Manufactured by Engineered Marine Products (EMP), a recognized producer of marine engine parts

The clutch dog spring works in conjunction with the clutch dog assembly to ensure the shift mechanism maintains proper engagement with the forward and reverse gears. When the spring becomes worn or loses tension, it can result in difficulty shifting, gear slippage, or the transmission popping out of gear during operation. Regular inspection and replacement of this spring during lower unit maintenance helps ensure reliable transmission performance and extends the life of other drivetrain components.

Unexpectedly rapid delivery. Extremely appreciative.

I wish would tell if it comes in pairs though!

First time using you guys. Hopefully your better then redline360. Bought a blox brake kit from them. Everything went on smooth. Then go to bleed and the bolt holding the bleeder snaps off. Spent 3 months. Sent back the caliper. Told me they would have a replacement mid june. Then they contact me telling me they are going to refund me. When that's what I asked them to do in the first place.

Easy enough
