Important Installation Note:
This gear set requires specific thrust bearing shim races that must be ordered separately. The updated gear kits require thinner shims than previous versions. Consult MerCruiser Service Bulletin 2001-17 for proper shim selection based on your driveshaft housing specifications. Additional components including yoke and cam assembly, shift shaft, and upper drive shaft may also be required for complete installation.
This is a complete upper gear set assembly that includes the pinion gear, driven gears, and cone clutch. All components from the kit must be used together to properly complete the installation and ensure reliable operation of your sterndrive unit.
