Gatorguard SS00501-DP SkegShield Skeg Guard for Mercruiser Alpha 1 Stern Drives

The Gatorguard SS00501-DP SkegShield provides heavy-duty protection for your Mercruiser Alpha 1 stern drive skeg against damage from reefs, rocks, and ramp contact. This precision-engineered skeg protector is constructed from 18-gauge 316 marine-grade stainless steel with a polished mirror finish that resists corrosion in saltwater environments.

Key Features:

• Custom-fit design for Mercruiser Alpha 1 stern drives (1985-1990)
• 18-gauge 316 stainless steel construction for maximum durability
• Mirror-polished finish for corrosion resistance and appearance
• Reinforced lower edge provides enhanced impact protection
• Integrated drainage hole prevents water accumulation and corrosion
• No welding or epoxy required for installation
• Installs in approximately 10 minutes with basic tools
• Can repair already damaged or broken skegs

The SkegShield design protects one of the most vulnerable parts of your stern drive, preventing costly gearcase repairs and maintaining your boat's performance. The reinforced lower edge takes the brunt of impacts while the drainage hole ensures water doesn't get trapped inside, which could lead to internal corrosion.
