Product Details

The Gatorguard SS00506-DP SkegShield is a premium stainless steel skeg guard designed to protect your outboard motor's skeg from rocks, reefs, and ramp damage. This bolt-on skeg protector fits Johnson and Evinrude 85-140 HP 2-stroke outboards (1980-2001) and OMC Cobra 4-cylinder sterndrives (1986-1994).

Key Features:

  • Constructed from durable 18-gauge 316 marine-grade stainless steel with polished finish
  • Reinforced lower edge provides double the protection of OEM skegs
  • Built-in drainage hole prevents water retention and corrosion
  • Break-away bolt system designed to shear during high-impact collisions to prevent gearcase damage
  • Easy DIY installation in 10-30 minutes with no welding, adhesives, or epoxy required
  • Custom fit design—simply slide into place, drill mounting holes, and secure with included hardware
  • Made in the USA with premium materials for long-lasting reliability

This skeg guard not only protects intact skegs but can also repair already damaged skegs, saving you time and money on costly lower unit repairs. The SkegShield installs without affecting your boat's performance and allows you to get back on the water immediately with no curing time required.
