Cal June Buoys

About Cal June & Jim-Buoy

Cal June, the North Hollywood, California-based company behind the iconic Jim-Buoy brand, has been a cornerstone of marine and pool safety for more than three decades. With a catalog spanning everything from life-saving ring buoys to robust mooring systems, Jim-Buoy has earned the trust of both recreational boaters and commercial maritime operators around the world.

What sets Cal June apart is an unwavering commitment to quality construction and safety certification. Many Jim-Buoy products meet or exceed U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) standards, and several carry SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) approval — making them a go-to choice not just for weekend boaters but also for commercial vessels, docks, and marine facilities that demand the highest level of reliability. Materials are chosen for longevity on the water: closed-cell foam cores resist compression and moisture, durable vinyl and polyethylene shells stand up to UV exposure and harsh weather, and hardware throughout is typically stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized to resist corrosion.

The Jim-Buoy lineup is impressively broad. Horseshoe buoys and ring buoys come in a variety of sizes to meet different vessel requirements, while mooring buoys — including the well-regarded Mark V hard-shell series — feature virtually indestructible outer shells over high-density polyurethane foam cores. Channel marker buoys help navigators identify safe passages, and life floats are engineered to USCG-approved capacities for crews ranging from a handful of passengers to 22 or more. Even specialty items like winter stick buoys, designed in heavy-duty polyethylene to stay free in icy conditions, reflect the brand's thoughtful approach to real-world boating challenges.

Among the brand's most practical offerings are its Pickup, Marker, and Mast Buoys — versatile tools that let boaters mark anchors, hazards, fishing spots, dive locations, and race courses with confidence. Built from the same quality materials as the rest of the Jim-Buoy family, these buoys are straightforward, durable, and purpose-built for everyday use on the water.

Whether you're outfitting a personal watercraft, a commercial fishing vessel, a marina, or a community pool, Cal June's Jim-Buoy products deliver the dependability that safety-critical equipment demands. With a legacy built on consistent quality and a product range designed to cover virtually every buoyancy and marking need, it's easy to see why Jim-Buoy remains one of the most recognized names in marine safety.

Product Details

The Cal June 1204 Trip Line Anchor Marker Buoy is an essential piece of anchoring gear designed to mark your anchor's location and facilitate anchor retrieval. Constructed from tough, resilient foam in bright orange color, this buoy comes complete with 100 feet of black weather-resistant line rated at 800 lbs. breaking strength.

How It Works:

As the anchor is dropped, one end of the buoy line attaches to the trip shackle of the anchor, and the buoy rises to the surface, unwinding as it ascends. At the surface, the line is tied off in the built-in cleat on the buoy, marking the anchor spot and making it ready to trip the anchor when needed.

Key Features:

 • Durable resilient foam construction for long-lasting performance
 • High-visibility bright orange color for easy spotting
 • Includes 100 feet of weather-resistant line with 800 lb. breaking strength
 • Built-in cleat for secure line attachment
 • Designed for use with anchor trip shackles

This buoy is essential gear wherever anchors are used, from recreational boating to commercial marine applications. The trip line system allows you to retrieve stuck anchors by pulling from the opposite direction, preventing anchor loss in rocky or debris-filled bottoms.
