Barton Marine 44001 Boomstrut Boom Support Black for Dinghies up to 16'

The Barton Marine 44001 Boomstrut is a maintenance-free boom support system designed for sailing dinghies up to 16 feet (LOA). This innovative device uses two flexible fiberglass rods to provide constant upward force on the boom, working in conjunction with your existing kicker or rope vang to maintain optimal sail shape.

Key Features:

• Patented flexing spring design provides fast response and constant vang efficiency
• Black anodized aluminum construction with high-grade stainless steel fittings
• Fully adjustable black webbing support sling fits any boom diameter
• Allows rotational roll on the boom to maintain proper sail shape
• Lightweight, low-profile design reduces weight and windage aloft
• Eliminates friction and sliding parts for trouble-free operation
• Suitable for dinghies with maximum boom tip weight of 5kg (11 lbs)

Easy Installation:

• Mounts independently inside existing kicking strap tackle—no need to replace hardware
• Mast bracket can slot into existing luff groove to eliminate drilling
• Contoured boom bracket fits both round and flat boom profiles
• Held in place by return line to mast that runs under the boom
• Complete fitting instructions included

The Boomstrut works by flexing when the boom is pulled down with a conventional kicker; when released, the fiberglass rods straighten to lift and support the boom. This eliminates the need for topping lifts while maintaining precise boom control. All components are manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials for durability in marine environments, and spare parts are available.
