Sierra 118-6202A Aluminum Trim Tab Anode for Mercury Outboards

The Sierra 118-6202A is a replacement aluminum trim tab anode engineered to protect your outboard motor from galvanic corrosion. Mounted to the anti-ventilation plate of the lower unit, this sacrificial anode corrodes preferentially, shielding metal engine and drive components from the electrochemical deterioration caused by dissimilar metals submerged in water.

Why Aluminum?

Aluminum anodes are the recommended choice for brackish water environments or for boats that operate in both fresh and salt water. Unlike zinc anodes, which are optimized strictly for salt water, aluminum alloy anodes provide reliable sacrificial protection across a broader range of water conditions.

Key Features:

• Constructed from high-grade aluminum alloy for maximum sacrificial protection in brackish or mixed-use water environments
• Designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications for a proper fit and reliable performance
• Functions as the primary sacrificial anode on the gearcase anti-ventilation plate, protecting lower unit hardware from galvanic corrosion
• Direct replacement for Mercury outboard trim tab anodes — OEM cross-reference: GLM 29570
• Part of Sierra's comprehensive corrosion protection line for Mercury and Mariner outboard engines

Sierra is a trusted name in aftermarket marine parts with decades of experience supplying the marine industry. Replace your trim tab anode regularly — at minimum once per season for boats kept in the water — to ensure your lower unit hardware remains protected.
