Dexter Marine Products 099-075-00 DX7.5 Surge Brake Actuator Bolt-On Drum Zinc Plated 7500 lbs

The Dexter Marine Products DX7.5 Surge Brake Actuator (099-075-00) is a bolt-on hydraulic surge actuator designed for drum brake trailer systems with a 7,500 lb gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity and a maximum tongue weight of 750 lbs. This actuator delivers reliable, automatic braking performance for boat trailers, utility trailers, and other towed applications.

Surge braking works by detecting the forward push of the trailer against the tow vehicle during deceleration. The actuator telescopes inward, applying force to the master cylinder and generating hydraulic pressure to engage the drum brakes — all without any electronic controller required.

Key Features:

• 7,500 lb GTW capacity — suitable for single and tandem axle drum brake trailers
• Bolt-on mounting — top-mount design fits standard 3" wide trailer tongues
• Fits standard 2" hitch balls for broad compatibility
• Zinc-plated construction for corrosion resistance, ideal for marine and outdoor environments
• Hydraulic drum brake system — automatically synchronizes trailer braking with the tow vehicle
• Formerly manufactured under the Tie Down Engineering lineup (model 750E) prior to Dexter's acquisition

The DX7.5 surge actuator is a proven solution for trailer braking on drum brake-equipped trailers. Its zinc-plated finish provides durability in wet and saltwater environments, making it a trusted choice for boat trailer applications. Also cross-referenced as UFP model A-75.
