TAYLOR

For more than a century, Taylor Made has been a cornerstone of the marine industry, earning the trust of boaters worldwide through uncompromising quality and innovation. Founded in 1908 as a canvas business, the company has evolved into the world's leading supplier of boat fenders and buoys, while expanding its product portfolio to include comprehensive dock protection solutions, boat covers, and essential marine accessories. Now part of the Lippert family, Taylor Made continues to set industry standards for durability, design, and performance in the marine marketplace.

Built Tough for Marine Environments

Taylor Made's reputation rests on products engineered to withstand the punishing conditions of marine environments. Their boat fenders are constructed from high-quality, marine-grade vinyl with patented inflation technology, optimally designed to guard against splitting and bursting. Whether you're protecting your hull at the dock, rafting alongside other vessels, or securing your boat in challenging conditions, these fenders deliver reliable cushioning season after season. The company's extensive fender lineup includes everything from compact models for small watercraft to heavy-duty inflatable yacht fenders designed for larger vessels.

Complementing their fender systems, Taylor Made's mooring and fishing buoys provide essential functionality for anchoring and marking applications. Built with hard polyethylene construction and ultra-violet light absorbers, these buoys are engineered for long-term durability in direct sunlight and harsh weather. Many feature tube-through-center designs that allow anchor chains to pass cleanly through for secure mooring setups, while high-visibility colors and reflective striping ensure they're easy to spot day or night.

Comprehensive Dock Protection Solutions

Protecting your investment extends beyond the boat itself to the dock where it's moored. Taylor Made's dock corners, bumpers, and profiles offer versatile protection options for every docking configuration. The company's dock edging applications protect boats from sharp edges and corners of docks, piers or floats, utilizing EPDM rubber and commercial-grade vinyl that tolerate harsh UV-rays and marine environments. From post bumpers and corner guards to vinyl-covered hull savers, these products create a protective barrier that prevents costly gelcoat damage and maintains your vessel's pristine appearance.

For boaters seeking secure, organized storage at the dock, Taylor Made's dock boxes deliver weather-resistant durability with practical design features. The fiberglass dock boxes feature durable UV gelcoat finish with solid foam cores that resist water and odors, and come standard with gas shocks that keep lids open in high winds. Available in multiple configurations including low-profile designs, triangle boxes for corner installations, and top-seat models that double as seating, these storage solutions keep life jackets, lines, fenders, and gear protected from the elements while maximizing valuable dock space.

Safety and Visibility on the Water

Safety equipment represents another critical element of Taylor Made's product range. Their horseshoe buoys and ring buoys serve as essential throwable flotation devices, meeting U.S. Coast Guard requirements for Type IV personal flotation devices. These brightly colored safety rings provide immediate aid in emergency situations and are required equipment for many vessels. Constructed to remain buoyant and visible even in challenging water conditions, they represent the kind of life-saving equipment that every responsible boater keeps within easy reach.

A Legacy of Marine Innovation

Taylor Made was built on a foundation of craftsmanship, innovation, and a commitment to delivering trustworthy products and extraordinary customer service. That founding philosophy continues to drive the company's approach to product development and manufacturing. Every Taylor Made product is constructed by boaters, for boaters, right here in the United States, ensuring that real-world marine experience informs every design decision. From the selection of materials to testing protocols, the company's engineering team brings decades of expertise to bear on creating products that perform reliably in saltwater and freshwater environments alike.

Whether you're outfitting a new vessel, upgrading aging equipment, or simply maintaining your boat and dock to the highest standards, Taylor Made provides the marine accessories that serious boaters depend on. Their comprehensive product lineup addresses every aspect of boat protection, docking, and marine safety, backed by more than 100 years of manufacturing excellence and innovation in the boating industry.

Product Details

The Taylor Made Sur-Moor Traditional 24" Round Mooring Buoy is a professional-grade hard-skin buoy engineered to support mooring chains and anchor systems in demanding marine environments. Built for long-term reliability, this buoy is constructed from a seamless, one-piece polyethylene shell that resists cracking, corrosion, and UV degradation.

Key Features:

 • Hard-skin, one-piece polyethylene shell — seamless and tough construction for lasting durability
 • UV light absorbers integrated into the shell for extended sun resistance and long service life
 • Filled with EPS closed-cell foam to positively displace water and maintain reliable flotation
 • Blue reflective striping enhances visibility at night for added safety
 • Sandblasted finish accepts paint easily for custom identification and marking
 • 24" diameter with approximately 240 lbs of buoyancy
 • 3-year flotation warranty on all hard-skin buoys
 • Hardware not included

The sole function of a mooring buoy is to float the mooring chain, keeping it off the seafloor and allowing a vessel to be securely tethered. Note: Mooring lines must never be tied to the top loop — always attach mooring lines directly to the anchor chain. The buoyancy rating represents the maximum flotation when fully submerged; approximately 50% of this value is the weight the buoy can support at the waterline (blue stripe level).

Backed by Taylor Made's trusted reputation in marine accessories, this Sur-Moor mooring buoy is an ideal choice for both freshwater and saltwater permanent mooring installations.
