Taylor 2020109189 U.S. Yacht Ensign Sewn Nylon Boat Flag 36 x 60 Inch

The Taylor Made U.S. Yacht Ensign Flag is the traditional nautical ensign for recreational boaters flying their colors in U.S. waters. Measuring a generous 36" x 60", this deluxe sewn flag is built to handle the demanding marine environment with lasting quality and color.

Key Features:

• Durable sewn nylon construction — lightweight yet fade-resistant fabric engineered for all-weather marine use
• Individually sewn stripes prevent color bleeding and ensure crisp, vibrant red, white, and blue
• Embroidered stars for a premium, high-detail finish
• Brass grommets for secure, corrosion-resistant attachment to any stern staff or halyard
• Four-needle fly ends for superior edge reinforcement and extended flag life
• Made in the U.S.A.

The U.S. Yacht Ensign — featuring 13 stars and a fouled anchor on a blue canton — is the legally recognized alternative to the 50-star national flag for pleasure boats operating in inland U.S. waters. It was designed by officers of the New York Yacht Club and authorized by an Act of Congress in 1848, making it a time-honored symbol of American recreational boating.

By tradition, the ensign is flown from 8:00 a.m. to sunset from the stern staff when underway or at anchor. On sailboats, it is displayed on the aftermost sail at 2/3 the length of the leech above the clew. For proper proportions, a flag length of 1" for every 1' of boat length is recommended — making this 60" flag ideal for boats approximately 60 feet in length.
