Product Details

3M Finesse-it Marine Paste Compound is a professional-grade rubbing compound specifically formulated to recondition boats with heavily oxidized surfaces and restore the appearance of gelcoat finishes. This aggressive white paste compound uses abrasive minerals to cut through heavy oxidation, chalky film, rust stains, and exhaust residue to bring faded gelcoats back to life.

Key Features:

  • Removes P800 sand scratches on production gelcoat and grade 1000-1200 sand scratches on tooling gelcoat
  • White color reduces the risk of staining light-colored boats
  • Stays wet during compounding to reduce heat build-up, pitting, burning, and print-through
  • Extended working time allows greater coverage area with less compound
  • Buffs to a high gloss finish requiring less glazing
  • Contains no silicones or waxes
  • Removes minor scratches, rust, and exhaust stains from gelcoat finishes

Apply in a circular motion to allow the abrasive mineral to cut through oxidation and grime. The compound is working when the surface transforms from dull and lifeless to glossy and shiny. Use as a necessary first step prior to polishing and waxing to achieve a professional, mirror-like finish. Recommended for use with buffing pads at 1200-2000 RPM for optimal results.

Note: For industrial/occupational use only. Not recommended for clear coat automotive paints due to aggressive cutting action.
