AIMS Power

About AIMS Power

Founded in 2001 in a Reno, Nevada garage, AIMS Power has grown from a one-person passion project into one of the most recognized names in off-grid and backup power technology. Bruce de Jong, the company's founder and president, devoted countless hours to developing unique inverter designs that addressed real gaps in the renewable energy market — and that customer-first philosophy remains at the heart of everything AIMS Power does today.

A Complete Off-Grid Power Ecosystem

What sets AIMS Power apart from many competitors is the breadth of its product ecosystem. While the brand built its reputation on its extensive line of power inverters — covering everything from compact 75-watt modified sine units to massive 12,000-watt pure sine models — it has since expanded into solar panels, deep-cycle AGM and LiFePO4 lithium batteries, MPPT solar charge controllers, portable solar generators, cables, and complete custom solar kits. This means customers can source an entire off-grid or backup power system from a single, trusted manufacturer.

The inverter lineup itself is remarkably diverse. AIMS Power offers both pure sine wave and modified sine wave inverters across 12V, 24V, and 48V DC inputs, with inverter-charger combos that include built-in transfer switches for seamless switching between battery and grid power. Several models carry ETL certification conforming to UL 458 and UL 1741 standards, making them suitable for RV manufacturers, work truck fleets, bus operators, and commercial OEM upfitters who require listed products.

Built for Real-World Applications

AIMS Power serves an unusually wide range of use cases. RV owners and overlanders rely on AIMS inverters and solar kits to stay powered far from the grid. Marine enthusiasts use their battery isolators and inverter-chargers to keep vessels running reliably. Emergency preparedness professionals count on AIMS systems for clean, dependable backup power when utility grids fail. The brand has also made significant inroads with industrial and commercial customers, supplying inverters to some of the most innovative organizations across the U.S. and internationally.

The company's lithium LiFePO4 battery line deserves special mention. Using only A-grade cells, AIMS Power batteries are engineered for up to 4,000 charge-discharge cycles — roughly twice what B-grade alternatives deliver. Combined with a sophisticated internal battery management system, these batteries maintain consistent output voltage right up until they're discharged, making them especially well-suited to sensitive electronics and critical backup applications.

US-Based Support and Continuous Innovation

One of AIMS Power's most appreciated differentiators is its commitment to U.S.-based technical support. The company operates a dedicated engineering and tech support facility in Reno and offers lifetime free technical assistance to customers, available by phone or email. This accessibility — combined with a willingness to work directly with customers and factories to solve design challenges — allows AIMS Power to iterate on its products faster than many larger competitors. For those who need tailored solutions, the brand also offers custom solar kits and works with OEMs and upfitters on application-specific builds.

Product Details

The AIMS Power LFP12V100AREG is a solid-state battery voltage regulator and isolator designed to protect 12V DC battery systems by automatically disconnecting the power source whenever voltage falls outside a safe operating range. Compatible with lithium (LiFePO4), AGM, and other battery technologies, this regulator makes it possible to safely charge lithium batteries via an alternator by preventing overcharging during operation.

The unit continuously monitors input voltage and supplies power to connected loads when voltage remains within the 9.4–14.4V operating range. If voltage drops below 9.2V or rises above 14.6V, output power is immediately cut off, protecting both batteries and connected equipment. The regulator also functions as an isolator, automatically disconnecting loads when voltage is out of range to protect the main starting battery.

Over-Current Protection:

 • When current exceeds 100A but remains below 125A, the relay disconnects after 1 minute
 • When current exceeds 125A but remains below 150A, the relay disconnects after 10 seconds
 • When current exceeds 150A, the relay disconnects immediately
 • Once current returns to the operating range, the regulator automatically resets after 2 minutes

Key Features:

 • Solid-state technology for reliable, long-lasting protection
 • Voltage input range: 9.4–14.4V DC
 • Output cutoff: Below 9.2V or above 14.6V
 • 100 amp continuous output current
 • 2-wire terminal configuration for simple, straightforward installation
 • Compatible with vehicles, wind, hydro, and other 12V off-grid systems
 • Compact design: 5.75" L x 4.75" W x 2.125" H
 • Lightweight at approximately 1 lb

The LFP12V100AREG's compact form factor and simple screw-terminal 2-wire hookup make it easy to integrate into existing 12V setups including RVs, overland vehicles, marine applications, and renewable energy systems. It is an essential component when pairing lithium batteries with standard alternators or mixed battery bank configurations.
