CMP CME3 Zinc Pencil Anode with Plug 3/4 NPT x 2 In Engine Cooling System

The CMP CME3 is a zinc pencil anode designed specifically for use in saltwater marine engine cooling systems. Pencil anodes like this one provide critical cathodic protection, sacrificing themselves through galvanic corrosion to protect expensive engine block metals from saltwater-induced corrosion damage.

This anode installs directly into the engine block via a standard 3/4 inch NPT threaded plug, making replacement straightforward during routine maintenance. The included plug secures the zinc element in place and ensures a watertight seal within the cooling passages.

Key Features:

• Material: Zinc — the correct sacrificial metal for saltwater applications
• Thread Size: 3/4 inch NPT plug for direct engine block installation
• Dimensions: 3/4 inch outside diameter x 2 inch length
• Includes plug for secure, leak-free installation
• Saltwater use only — zinc anodes are optimized for saltwater environments
• Protects engine cooling system passages from galvanic and electrolytic corrosion

Regular inspection and replacement of pencil anodes is essential for any vessel operating in saltwater. CMP (Cathodic Marine Protection) is a trusted manufacturer of sacrificial anodes for the marine industry. Always replace zinc anodes when they have been consumed to approximately 50% of their original size.
