The CMP CMEZ1E is a zinc pencil anode designed to protect marine engine cooling systems from galvanic corrosion in saltwater environments. Pencil anodes sacrifice themselves to protect metal engine components — such as heat exchangers and manifolds — from the electrochemical corrosion caused by dissimilar metals submerged in conductive seawater.
