Sherwood Pump 15955S-SHW Mechanical Seal and Seat Assembly for P17XX Series Raw Water Pumps

The Sherwood Pump 15955S-SHW is an OEM mechanical seal and seat assembly designed as a direct replacement component for Sherwood P17XX series raw water (sea water) pumps. This seal assembly is a critical internal component that prevents water from leaking past the pump shaft, maintaining proper pump performance and protecting bearings and internal hardware from water intrusion.

The 15955S-SHW directly replaces Sherwood part numbers 15955 and 23799, making it a reliable OEM-spec solution for pump rebuilds and repairs. It is commonly included as a standard component in major repair and service kits for the P17XX pump series.

Key Features:

• OEM Sherwood mechanical seal and seat assembly
• Designed specifically for Sherwood P17XX series raw water/sea water pumps
• Replaces Sherwood part numbers 15955 and 23799
• Compatible with P1700, P1710, P1716, P1719, P1722, P1727, P1730, P1731, P1732, P1733, and related P17XX variants
• Essential component for pump rebuilds and mechanical seal replacement

Important Compatibility Note: The 15955S-SHW is designed for use only with the original P17XX shaft and bearing assembly — specifically the version that retains a snap ring groove between the impeller and the first ball bearing. It is not compatible with the 25100-SHW shaft and bearing assembly, which is designed for a pressed-on seal seat. Using this seal with an incompatible shaft assembly may result in seal failure or shaft damage.
