Product Details

The Teleflex SSC21908 is an 8-foot JBS (Jet Boat Steering) mechanical steering cable designed specifically for jet boat applications. It serves as a direct replacement for the SSC219 series factory steering cables and is engineered for use with smaller jet drives including Mercury Sport Jet and OMC Turbo Jet drives up to 175 HP. The cable meets ABYC P-23 specifications and delivers precise, responsive steering performance.

Key Features:

  • Stainless steel inner core and output ends for increased cable strength and corrosion resistance in harsh marine environments
  • HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) outer jacket provides excellent abrasion resistance and high resistance to water penetration
  • 3.5" cable travel for accurate and responsive helm response
  • Exceeds ABYC safety standards and meets ISO/IMCI/NMMA certification requirements
  • Cable length measured tip to tip — 8 feet total
  • Compatible with both standard and tilt JBS helm configurations

Compatible Teleflex JBS Helms:

  • SH5087P — JBS Helm (135° turning arc)
  • SH5088P — JBS Helm (270° turning arc)
  • SH91691P — JBS Tilt Helm (135° turning arc)
  • SH91692P — JBS Tilt Helm (270° turning arc)
  • SH91678P and SH91679P (obsolete helms)

Replacement Tip: When replacing an existing JBS steering cable, locate the part number stamped on the plastic jacket of the old cable. If the cable has already been removed, measure from tip to tip and round up to the next whole foot to determine the correct replacement length.

The experience was good.

You guys got me the part very fast. Thanks

The only problem was confusion with process and delivery information. And the picture of the generator wasn't what my pump was for. Despite that, it was right product delivered as fast as Amazon which brought me comfort to the confusion. Thanks for your service.
