With a commitment to quality manufacturing and exacting tolerances, Acme has become a go-to brand for inboard boat owners who demand consistent, high-performance results on the water.

At the heart of the Acme lineup are their renowned propellers, designed and engineered for performance across a wide range of inboard applications — from water skiing and wakeboarding to cruising. Acme propellers are widely recognized for their CNC-machined precision and are compatible with leading boat brands including Nautique, Malibu, Mastercraft, Centurion, Supra, and many more. Whether you need a 3-blade or 4-blade configuration, right-hand or left-hand rotation, Acme offers an extensive range of sizes and pitches to match the specific demands of your engine and hull setup.

But Acme’s catalog extends well beyond the propeller itself. Installing and removing a prop correctly requires the right tools, and Acme delivers there too. Their prop pullers are purpose-built for inboard shafts and make the often-stubborn job of prop removal safer and more straightforward. Paired with their prop wrenches, pullers & accessories, boaters have everything needed for a complete and professional prop service at the dock or in the shop.

Proper hardware is just as important as the propeller itself. Acme’s prop nuts & thrust washers are engineered to work seamlessly with their propeller lineup, ensuring secure, properly torqued installations that protect both the shaft and the prop under demanding conditions. Rounding out the brand’s marine offering is a selection of tools designed specifically for prop-related maintenance tasks, making Acme a one-stop resource for inboard propulsion service.

Trusted by professional marine technicians and passionate boaters alike, Acme Automotive continues to deliver the kind of precision and reliability that performance on the water demands. Product Details

The Acme Automotive 6008 Nylock Prop Nut Kit is a complete propeller hardware kit designed for inboard ski, wakeboard, and surf boats with a 1-1/4" propeller shaft using the standard 7/8"-9 thread size. This kit includes all the hardware necessary when installing or replacing an inboard boat propeller.

Kit Contents:

 • Brass Nylock (nylon lock) nut — provides a secure, vibration-resistant lock on the prop shaft
 • Brass shaft key — secures the propeller to the shaft keyway
 • Stainless steel cotter pin — secondary retention for the nut assembly

Key Specifications:

 • Shaft size: 1-1/4"
 • Thread size: 7/8"-9 (standard)
 • Maximum torque: 35 ft-lbs
 • Nut and key material: Brass
 • Cotter pin material: Stainless steel

The propeller hardware components used to secure a propeller to the shaft are designed for limited reuse and should be replaced each time a propeller is removed. The brass nylock nut is preferred over a traditional castle nut, as its nylon insert provides a more reliable lock without sole dependence on a cotter pin.

Important Thread Note: There are two possible prop nut options for 1-1/4" shaft inboard boats. Some newer model boats may use a 3/4-10 thread instead of the standard 7/8"-9 thread. To verify, measure the overall diameter of your shaft threads on the prop end — if it measures approximately 0.875", this 7/8"-9 kit (6008) is correct. If it measures approximately 0.75", you will need a different kit.
