Pettit Paint 1113008 Prep Solvent Surface Cleaner and Degreaser Quart

Pettit Paint 1113008 Prep Solvent is a professional-grade surface preparation solvent designed to clean and degrease boat hulls and marine surfaces prior to painting. Proper surface prep is one of the most critical steps in achieving a durable, long-lasting topside or antifouling paint finish, and this solvent ensures your substrate is free of oils, waxes, grease, and other contaminants before application.

Key Features:

• Effectively removes grease, oil, wax, and surface contaminants
• Prepares fiberglass, metal, and wood surfaces for primer and topcoat adhesion
• Compatible with Pettit primers, topside paints, and antifouling systems
• Fast-evaporating formula minimizes dry time between prep and painting
• Quart (32 oz) size — convenient for single-boat applications and touch-up projects

For best results, apply Prep Solvent with a clean, lint-free cloth using a two-rag method: wipe on with one rag and wipe dry with a second clean rag before the solvent evaporates. This removes contaminants without redistributing them across the surface. This step is recommended by Pettit as part of their complete paint system preparation process.
