Continental DESS Compatible Safety Lanyard Sea-Doo Ski-Doo

The Continental DESS compatible safety lanyard (also called a DESS key, kill switch lanyard or safety tether) is a replacement lanyard for Sea-Doo and Ski-Doo engines that use the Digitally Encoded Security System (D.E.S.S.). It connects the rider to the engine cut-off switch, so the engine shuts off if the rider falls or is thrown from the machine.

Key Features:

• Works with the Digitally Encoded Security System used on Sea-Doo personal watercraft and Ski-Doo snowmobiles
• Acts as the engine cut-off tether, which helps prevent a runaway vehicle if the operator is separated from it
• Works as a spare or replacement for a lost or worn lanyard
• Attaches to the rider's wrist or life vest, depending on style

Installation Note: DESS keys are digitally encoded. A new lanyard typically has to be programmed to the vehicle, usually by a dealer or qualified shop, before it will start the engine.

Wearing the safety lanyard whenever you operate the vehicle is a basic safety practice. A spare gives you a backup if the original is lost.
