Ancor NMEA 2000 Drop Cable

Ancor NMEA 2000 drop cables connect an NMEA 2000 device, such as a chartplotter, sonar, GPS or engine interface, to a tee connector on the network backbone. They are also called NMEA 2000 N2K drop cables or marine network device cables. They are made for marine electronics installations that need a reliable, standards-based data and power connection.

Key Features:

• NMEA 2000 approved: Universal design that works with other manufacturers' NMEA 2000 products.
• Color-coded system: Black couplers mate with the matching Ancor tees. This makes network layout and component identification simpler.
• Flexible, lighter-gauge construction: Drop cables are smaller in diameter than backbone cables. They use flexible 22 AWG power conductors, which makes routing to devices easier.
• Multiple lengths: Ancor offers drop cables in several lengths, from short runs to longer reaches, to suit different installations.

Installation Notes: To add a device, install a tee connector in the backbone. Connect the drop cable to the tee's black coupler, then connect the other end to the device. Under NMEA 2000 network limits, each drop cable can be no longer than 19.7 ft (6 m).

Ancor is a well-known marine-grade wire and electrical brand. These drop cables make it easy to add or expand an NMEA 2000 network on a boat.
