Martyr Anodes Engine Cooling System Zinc Anode with Brass Plug

Martyr Anodes Engine Cooling System Zinc Anodes with Brass Plug, also called zinc pencil anodes or engine zincs, give sacrificial corrosion protection inside marine engine cooling systems. Each anode comes with a brass plug. The zinc corrodes in place of the metal engine parts around it, which helps guard heat exchangers, coolers and other raw-water-cooled components against galvanic corrosion and electrolysis.

Key Features:

• Zinc anode element that sacrifices itself to protect the metal components around it in the cooling system
• Brass plug fitting for installing the anode in the engine's cooling circuit
• Alloy made to meet or exceed US Military Specification MIL-DTL-18001L
• Zinc suits salt water applications and is not recommended for fresh water use
• Made by Martyr Anodes, part of the CMP Group (Canada Metal), a known name in marine corrosion protection
• Sold in a range of lengths, diameters and thread types to match different engine cooling system designs

Zinc pencil anodes wear down as they work, so inspect them regularly and replace them before they are used up. Doing so keeps protection in place and helps extend the service life of your engine's cooling system parts. Choose the variant that matches your engine's plug thread and anode dimensions.
