Dexter Axle Brake Magnet Kit for Electric Brakes

The Dexter Axle brake magnet kit is a replacement electric brake magnet for trailer axles that use Dexter electric drum brakes. The magnet is the part that creates the braking force. When the brake controller sends current to it, it is drawn against the rotating armature surface of the drum. That friction moves the actuating lever and applies the brake shoes. Over time the magnet face wears, so replacing it restores smooth, consistent trailer braking.

Key Features:

• Made for Dexter electric trailer brake assemblies
• Gives responsive, proportional braking when used with a compatible trailer brake controller
• Uses a wear-resistant magnet face designed for repeated brake applications
• Replaces worn or damaged magnets on utility, boat, camper, RV, and equipment trailers
• Lets you restore braking performance without replacing the whole brake assembly

Replacing the magnets in pairs on the same axle is good practice. It helps keep braking even from side to side. Use the brake size and amperage specifications of your assembly to choose the right child item. Dexter Axle is a long-established North American manufacturer of trailer axles, brakes, and running gear.
