Wichard Friction Ring Marine Rigging Thimble

The Wichard FRX friction ring, also called a low friction ring or rigging thimble, is a lightweight, high-strength deck hardware fitting. It lets lines run smoothly with minimal wear. Wichard Marine designed it for sailboat rigging and running rigging.

Key Features:

• Anodized aluminum construction: Hard anodized (50 microns) for a longer service life and strong corrosion resistance in the marine environment.
• Light and strong: Efficient and reliable, and strong enough for heavy loads and semi-static lines.
• Smooth line handling: The ring shape lets rope run freely and reduces chafe and wear.
• Versatile: Works as a thimble, loop or turning point in many deck and rigging setups.

Typical Applications:

• Mast-foot block
• Barber-hauler and inhauler
• Loop and thimble
• Lazy jack
• Running backstay
• Tackle systems

Wichard is a respected French maker of marine hardware. The FRX friction ring line gives sailors a dependable, low-maintenance way to improve line handling on deck.
