Wichard HR Bow Shackle Pin High-Resistance Stainless Steel Sailing Parts & Accessories

The Wichard HR bow shackle (High Resistance bow shackle) is a forged stainless steel shackle for sailing rigs and demanding marine and industrial work. Wichard is a French maker of marine hardware. It forges these shackles from 17.4 PH high-resistance stainless steel. They are among the strongest stainless shackles in the Wichard range.

Key Features:

• Forged 17.4 PH stainless steel: Wichard says an HR shackle can be up to 60% more resistant than a shackle made from 316L stainless steel.
• High working and breaking loads: Built for the highest onboard loads, with published working and breaking load ratings.
• Bow (lyre) shape: The wide opening lets you attach several lines or cables. It also suits loads that pull from more than one direction.
• Loose pin: The pin is not captive, so you can use the full width of the shackle opening.
• Marked and CE-marked: Each shackle is stamped HR for identification, and the range carries CE marking.
• Corrosion and fatigue resistance: Forging gives strong, durable hardware that holds up in marine conditions.

Typical uses include attaching deck hardware, high-load rigging lines and fittings on large monohulls and multihulls. They are also used in industrial applications. Wichard advises that these shackles are not suitable for mooring applications. The WLL (Working Load Limit) rating applies to industrial lifting use only.
