Megaware KeelGuard Keel Protector Gray

The Megaware KeelGuard Keel Protector (also called a boat keel guard or hull keel protector) is the original patented do-it-yourself keel protection system. It shields your boat's gelcoat from abrasion caused by sand, rocks, concrete ramps, oyster beds and repeated beaching. Even small gelcoat damage can let moisture reach the fiberglass laminate, and KeelGuard helps prevent that.

Key Features:

• Abrasion-resistant construction: a durable, shock-absorbing blend of polymers and urethanes that stays pliable enough to follow the contours of the keel
• 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive: bonds the protector to the hull for a permanent installation
• Self-sealing contoured edge: creates a clean, tight seal, so you don't need messy sealants
• Hydrodynamic drag-reduction design: angled grooves form channels and air pockets for a slicker surface
• UV-stabilized color: keeps its appearance during long outdoor exposure
• DIY installation: the process is four steps: etch, clean, prime and apply
• Made in the USA: developed with boat designers and 3M engineers

KeelGuard suits fiberglass boats and some aluminum boats. It may not suit aluminum hulls with a reinforced rib design. It also isn't recommended where the boat's full weight rests on keel rollers or a support beam, unless the rollers can be lowered or the side bunks raised to clear the keel protector.
