World Wide Marine Steersman Steering Cable Grease Guard Stainless Steel

The World Wide Marine Steersman Steering Cable Grease Guard is a stainless steel replacement tilt tube nut for outboard steering cable systems. It has its own grease fitting and O-ring seal. It replaces the standard locking nut on the end of the steering cable tilt tube. This lets you lubricate the cable and ram, and it keeps water and corrosive elements out. You may also see it called a steering guard, steering tube guard, or steering cable grease nut.

Key Features:

• Stainless steel construction suited to salt water and fresh water use
• Built-in stainless steel grease fitting for easy lubrication of the steering cable
• Replaceable Buna-N O-ring seals the tilt tube to keep lubricant in and water out
• Pre-applied thread sealant
• Cleans and lubricates the steering system to help prevent stiff, sticky, or seized steering
• Helps extend the service life of a new steering cable

Installation is straightforward. Disengage the tiller arm, remove the existing locking nut from the end of the tilt tube, thread on the Steersman Steering Guard, and reconnect the tiller arm. Choose the variant that matches your tilt tube thread.
