Attwood Marine Stainless Steel Gas Spring Rod Extended Compressed

Attwood Marine stainless steel gas springs, also called gas struts, lift supports or hatch struts, give controlled lifting and hold-open support for boat hatches, lids, lockers, engine compartment covers and access panels. They are made for wet, salty marine environments where ordinary steel struts corrode quickly.

Key Features:

• Stainless steel pressure tube and rod resist corrosion in saltwater and damp compartments
• Exposed components are stainless steel or marine-grade composite
• Smooth, controlled opening and closing motion
• Sealed design helps keep contaminants out for long service life
• Available in a range of lengths, strokes, rod sizes, end fittings and force ratings, so you can match the spring to your application
• Works as a replacement for worn or failed gas springs on boats, and in other wet or outdoor applications

Attwood describes its stainless gas springs as environmentally friendly, because they use biodegradable, water-hazard-rated oil. It also states that they pass ASTM B117 salt spray testing and a 30,000-cycle life test.
