Martyr Anodes Streamlined Shaft Anode Magnesium

Martyr Anodes Streamlined Shaft Anodes in magnesium are sacrificial prop shaft anodes (shaft zincs) that protect your boat's underwater metals from galvanic corrosion. Magnesium is the preferred anode alloy for boats that operate only in fresh water. It is more active than zinc or aluminum, so it works well in low-conductivity water.

Key Features:

• Magnesium alloy: Suited to freshwater use. It does not form the oxide layer that zinc and aluminum can develop in fresh water.
• Streamlined profile: Reduces drag and turbulence on the shaft.
• Interlocking halves: The two halves clamp onto the shaft with full 360-degree contact.
• Extra alloy around the fasteners: Adds material where the anode wears, which helps extend service life.
• Bolt retaining washers: Help keep the anode secure and make underwater installation easier.
• Quality manufacturing: Martyr anodes are pressure die-cast under an ISO 9001 quality management system. Alloys are made to US Military alloy specifications.

Important: Magnesium anodes are intended for freshwater use only. They are not recommended for salt or brackish water. Choose the zinc or aluminum versions of this anode for those environments.

Replace the anode when it has worn down significantly to keep your shaft, propeller and other underwater metals protected.
