Permatex Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker

Permatex Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker is a flexible, formed-in-place gasket material. It seals against engine oil and is also sold as black RTV sealant or silicone gasket sealant. It is made for applications where gaskets are exposed to oil, and it suits both new builds and repairs.

Key Features:

• Maximum oil resistance: The formula resists motor oil, including oils with additives, and helps prevent leaks and seepage.
• Flexible, durable seal: The cured silicone absorbs vibration and thermal cycling. It stays flexible and resists cracking and shrinking.
• Formed-in-place: It can replace or supplement pre-cut gaskets, and it fills small surface imperfections on mating flanges.
• Common applications: Typical uses include valve covers, oil pans, timing covers, transmission pans, differential covers and water pumps.
• Sensor-safe: The formula is low-odor and is designed to be safe for oxygen sensors in modern engines.
• Wide temperature range: It handles the heat and cold swings found in engine and drivetrain assemblies.

Installation Notes: Mating surfaces should be clean, dry and free of oil, grease and old gasket material. Apply a continuous bead, assemble the parts, and tighten the fasteners to the manufacturer's torque specification. RTV silicone cures with moisture from the air.
