Martyr Anodes trim tab anodes for Mercury and Mercruiser drives give sacrificial corrosion protection to your gearcase and trim tab. A trim tab anode, also called a trim tab zinc, sacrificial anode or galvanic anode, corrodes in place of the underwater metal parts so they don't. Martyr offers replacement anodes for many Mercury outboard and MerCruiser sterndrive applications.

Choosing the right anode: Zinc is meant for saltwater. Aluminum works better than zinc in brackish water, where zinc can passivate. Magnesium is the best choice for freshwater only. Always check propeller clearance after installing a new trim tab anode.
