Forespar Marelon Hose Adapter Tailpipe Fitting

Forespar Marelon hose adapters, also called tailpipes or pipe-to-hose adapters, join hose lines to ball valves, seacocks and other threaded marine plumbing fittings. Each one has a barbed hose end and a threaded pipe end. They are molded from Marelon, Forespar's glass-reinforced composite polymer, so they suit raw water, bilge, livewell, washdown and other onboard plumbing.

Key Features:

• Marelon construction: a high-strength, glass-reinforced composite polymer that is completely corrosion-free
• Durable: UV stabilized, and it will not freeze or become brittle with age or temperature extremes
• Strong: abrasion and UV resistance comparable to bronze, at a fraction of the weight
• Versatile: can be used above and below the waterline
• Barbed hose end: grips the hose securely when used with a hose clamp
• Threaded pipe end: available in straight (NPSM) and tapered (NPT) thread forms, depending on the model. Use thread compound or PTFE tape on the threads to seal them.
• Approvals: U.L. and A.B.Y.C. approved

Marelon fittings are popular with boat builders. These adapters are a dependable, maintenance-free way to connect hose to valves and seacocks. Note that NPSM (parallel) and NPT (tapered) threads are not designed to work together, so match the thread type to your valve or fitting.
