Sea-Dog Line Gas Filled Lift Spring with Multi-Lobe Seal

Sea-Dog Line gas filled lift springs, also called gas springs, gas struts or hatch lifts, give controlled support for lids, hatches and compartment covers. They suit marine, RV, truck cap, tool box and utility use. A multi-lobe seal gives long service life and dependable performance.

Key Features:

• Multi-lobe seal for extended service life and consistent performance
• Durable construction with hard chromium plated shafts, bronze bushings, polymer end fittings and a charge of nitrogen gas
• Pressure damping for controlled extension and compression speed
• Simple mounting in a compact size
• Marine OE standards: made to marine original equipment specifications
• 2-year warranty

Each spring comes pre-pressurized. When the lid is fully extended, the spring holds it open with a force equal to its rated P1 load. Compressing the spring stores energy that helps lift the lid the next time it opens. The springs are made to lift and lower heavy or awkward items safely. They are normally installed in pairs, with the rod ends down. This position keeps the oil seal lubricated and gives the best damping.
