Seastar Solutions Hydraulic Steering Fluid

Seastar Solutions Hydraulic Steering Fluid is a marine hydraulic steering oil, also sold as boat steering fluid or hydraulic steering oil. It is made for SeaStar and BayStar hydraulic steering systems. The fluid is treated to keep steering response consistent and to protect the system's internal components.

Key Features:

• Formulated for SeaStar and BayStar hydraulic steering systems
• Contains viscosity stabilizers that keep the fluid consistent across a wide range of temperatures
• Anti-wear additives help extend the life of the system
• Corrosion and rust inhibitors help protect against damage if water gets into the system
• Anti-foaming agents help remove air trapped in the oil, for example after installation
• Anti-oxidants help prevent the oil from breaking down over time, which can make steering feel heavier
• Water emulsification additives hold entrained water in the oil instead of letting it collect as free water
• Performance matched to SeaStar's seal compounds, and used by SeaStar to validate system performance

Using the fluid made for the system helps keep steering feel smooth and consistent in hot and cold conditions. It also protects the precision components of the steering system. Dometic recommends SeaStar hydraulic fluid only for its hydraulic steering systems, so non-approved fluids should not be used.
