West Systems Colloidal Silica Thickening Additive

West Systems Colloidal Silica Thickening Additive is a fumed silica filler used to thicken mixed WEST SYSTEM epoxy resin and hardener for bonding, coating and fairing work. Also sold as colloidal silica or fumed silica thickener, it gives you control over the viscosity of the epoxy. Use it to prevent sag and run on vertical and overhead surfaces and to make the mix suitable for gap filling.

Key Features:

• Thickens epoxy to a range of consistencies, from light syrup to a heavier mayonnaise- or peanut-butter-like paste
• Helps prevent epoxy from running or sagging on vertical surfaces
• Works as a general-purpose adhesive filler for bonding and gap filling
• Helps keep epoxy from draining out of porous surfaces and joints
• Designed for use with WEST SYSTEM epoxy resins and hardeners
• Fine, lightweight powder that blends easily into mixed epoxy

Colloidal silica is often combined with other WEST SYSTEM fillers to adjust strength, sandability and finish for the job. For best results, add it to the resin and hardener after they are thoroughly mixed. Wear a dust mask and eye protection when handling the fine powder.

A dependable choice for boat building, repair and general epoxy projects in marine, automotive, RV and powersports applications.
