The Hamby's story began in 1988, when founder Ernie Hamby created the industry's first injection-molded, patented keel protector — starting with nothing more than a wooden mold. That spirit of hands-on craftsmanship and commitment to quality has carried through every generation of the product. In 1994, Ernie brought on Roger Sutterfield as a business partner, and Roger's son Jake soon joined the team, helping expand the business by supplying the Beaching Bumper to leading bass boat manufacturers including Ranger, Bass Cat, Skeeter, and Vexus.
In 2006, Hamby's joined forces with Megaware KeelGuard, and together the two brands have provided hundreds of thousands of boat owners with industry-leading protection products. Today, Hamby's remains family-owned and proudly made in the USA.
