Megaware KeelGuard 27061 SkegGuard Stainless Steel Skeg Protector for Mercury & Mariner Outboards

The Megaware KeelGuard SkegGuard 27061 is a precision-fit stainless steel skeg protector engineered for select Mercury and Mariner outboard motors. It serves double duty — protecting an intact skeg from future damage and functioning as a replacement solution for skegs that are already broken or worn down.

Constructed from 18-gauge marine grade 316 stainless steel and mirror polished for a lasting shine, the SkegGuard 27061 conforms closely to your lower unit to ensure no discernible drag or loss in performance. A reinforced wear tab runs across the bottom where the skeg faces the most abuse from hidden rocks, submerged debris, and accidental boat ramp dragging.

Key Features:

• 18-gauge marine grade 316 stainless steel construction for maximum corrosion resistance
• Mirror polished finish for long-lasting, corrosion-resistant shine
• Reinforced wear tab at the bottom edge for extra protection in the most vulnerable zone
• Drain hole prevents water from collecting and becoming stagnant to reduce corrosion and freeze damage
• Conforms to lower unit profile — no drag, no performance compromise
• Can be installed with as little as 2–3 inches of skeg remaining, making it ideal for repair applications
• Secured with self-locking hardware — installs in under 10 minutes with common tools
• 3-Year Warranty

The SkegGuard is a cost-effective alternative to expensive lower unit skeg repairs or full skeg replacements. Made in the USA by Megaware KeelGuard, Inc., it is a trusted solution used by boaters across a wide range of Mercury and Mariner outboard applications.
